Authorization Platform - July 2023 Release

AUTHOR: PlainID Product Team

The July 2023 version release of the Authorization Platform includes Data Mapping enhancements, UI/UX improvements, and bug fixes.

What’s New

Dynamic Data Mapping

Users can now use dynamic mapping capabilities for Authorization Policies. This new feature enables multiple tables, which share the same logical structure, to be represented by a single Asset type, simplifying Policy management for row-level controls. This approach provides optimized centralized management and ensures the consistency of row-level controls across various tables.

To create dynamic mapping, you need to define which tables are represented by this Asset type. Optionally, you can map the column to the attributes dynamically if different column names are used. The PDP then dynamically inserts the specific values into the Authorization response, matching the set of tables sent in the request to provide instructions for query modification.

Product Enhancements

Administration Console

It is now possible to manage more objects such as Policies, Asset Types, Identity Sources within a single Environment to expand future implementations.

Policy Authorization Agent (PAA)

This release includes security enhancements for the Policy Authorization Agent.

For upgrade instructions for the PAA and Authorizers, refer to the Admin Portal at https://docs.plainid.io

We're happy to hear about your experiences with these new features and look forward to hearing more about what you want to see in the Authorization Platform.
