AUTHOR: PlainID Product Team

The June 2023 version release of the Authorization Platform includes PAA and Authorizer enhancements, UI improvements, and bug fixes.

What’s New

  • Policy State

    • Users can now activate or deactivate Policies within each Environment. Inactive Policies are excluded from the runtime calculation that determines the authorization decision. This feature can be used to support testing scenarios, Application onboarding, etc.

  • New Accordion Workspaces on the Platform

    • The Authorization Platform now offers an enhanced Workspace experience with a new side pane feature. The Identity Workspace is collapsed on the left while the Authorization Workspace is open by default.

    • This paneled display provides users with better insights into their workspace by showing the number of objects managed within each workspace and the last time the workspace was updated.

Product Enhancements

  • Policy Authorization Agent

    • Users can now further refine View Queries (caching, updating, etc.) for each PAA. This provides better resource utilization and more flexibility to support additional use cases.

    • This release also introduces enhanced control and maintenance capabilities for PAAs. Users can now toggle PIP Configuration Sync to set up DDLs, Models, Connection Settings, and Views without interrupting ongoing operations or configurations.

    • PAA health monitoring is now available in the PAA Management UI. This lets users check the status and health of the PAA and its components.

    • The PIP Operator log level can be updated without service restarts. This feature ensures business continuity, expands log visibility, and provides clearer error messages when working with Data Sources and Views in the PIP Management UI.

  • Identity Workspace

    • Users have the ability to delete attribute sources (Main/Aux/Context).

For upgrade instructions for the PAA and Authorizers, refer to the Admin Portal at docs.plainid.io.

We're happy to hear about your experiences with these new features and look forward to hearing more about what you want to see in the Authorization Platform.
