Authorization Platform - March 2023 Release

The March 2023 version release of the Authorization Platform brings additional capabilities, integration flexibility enhancements, and security fixes.

What’s New

• PDP Signed JWT Response Improved Flexibility and Security

  • PlainID's Policy Authorization Agent PDP now supports returning the runtime decision response as standard and signed customizable JWT, to allow for a standard, simple, and flat policy decision structure

  • The IDP JWT Payload can be included in the JWT that is generated by the PDP - keeping the identity information available for the policy decision consuming applications and services

• Envoy Authorizer Enhanced Flexibility

  • Added support for consuming the Authorization Platform's Policy Decision Response in a customizable JWT format for simplified integration processes

Product Enhancements

• Policy as Code enhancements for easier source code management.

  • Exporting Policies as Code now follows a deterministic order

  • After import, the API response will include the updated Policy Code, which reduces the number of API calls required

• Azure AD PIP enhancements:

  • Additional support for fetching nested groups for identities for better integration with Azure AD

• Policy Authorization Agent enhancements:

  • This release includes security enhancements for the Policy Authorization Agent. For upgrade instructions, refer to the Admin Portal.
