The October 2023 version release of the Authorization Platform includes product enhancements and bug fixes.

What’s New?

SQL Database Authorizer

Introducing the SQL Database Authorizer, which offers customers the flexibility to handle Authorization for different types of SQL-based databases. We offer low-code to no-code development with .NET and Java Spring Boot libraries to support rapid development.

  • Low-code to no-code development: No code changes are required in your applications as part of the bundle, saving time and enabling secure query adoption across your tech stack.

  • Proxy Service: Integrates seamlessly with Java Spring Boot and .NET, intercepting SQL queries to enhance security.

  • Policy-Based Modifications: Maintain consistent Authorization rules by altering queries according to PlainID policies.

  • Robust Security: Admins can enforce policy-based access controls, preventing unauthorized queries and protecting sensitive data, which maintains data integrity and reduces the risk of breaches.

This is an early access feature. Contact PlainID Support for more information.

REST Translator Dynamic Header

The REST Translator Dynamic Header capability allows users to seamlessly integrate with REST endpoints while enabling dynamic parameter transfers in headers. When using PIP with REST endpoints, you can configure dynamic values within headers sent to the REST source. This functionality ensures that you receive precisely the data you need, tailored to your specific requirements, guaranteeing the accuracy of your identity management processes. Key features include:

  • Unparalleled flexibility, enabling users to transfer dynamic parameters to the REST endpoint on the customer data source side.

  • Influence over the data fetched back from the PIP. Users can dynamically adjust headers, enhancing the precision and relevance of retrieved information.

  • Augmenting the existing URL-based dynamic parameter transfer, providing users with comprehensive control over their REST integration workflows.

Product Updates

Azure AD PIP Integration Enhancement

PlainID’s Azure AD integration has significant enhancements to improve data fetching performance and tuning. Introducing three new features that can be tuned to leverage better performance when large data sets of users and groups need to be fetched from AAD for access calculations:

  • Extended page size used for data fetching from AAD and managing the number of AAD calls.

  • Threading for fine-tuning operation to optimize data fetching from AAD with parallel threads.

  • Flexible group fetching that allows users to choose a strategy that fits their User Group data structure.

Policy Authorization Agent (PAA)

This release includes security enhancements for the Policy Authorization Agent.
