Feature Focus: Calculated Attributes

Calculated Attributes provide powerful Runtime flexibility in the PlainID Policy Decision Point (PDP), enabling dynamic transformation and enrichment of Attribute values. Instead of relying solely on static or pre-mapped values, you can define logic that derives new values using built-in functions like SUBSTRING, SPLIT, CONCAT, REGEXEXTRACT, SETCOMPARE, and more.

This capability helps support complex access decisions by:

• Extracting, combining, or manipulating values directly at Runtime.

• Enabling fine-grained control over how attribute values are interpreted in Policy rules.

Use Calculated Attributes when you need to reshape Attribute values dynamically to apply business rules or streamline Policy logic without requiring changes to your Data Sources.
