The June 2024 release of the Platform includes new features, product enhancements, and bug fixes.

What’s New?

Zscaler Authorizer

Additional criteria like Machine Groups, Platforms, and Country Codes are now supported and can be translated into Conditions in the PlainID Platform. These integrations allow users to define and enforce more granular and precise Access Control Policies, enhancing compliance and ensuring more robust security measures.

Product Updates

Handling Unavailable Identity Sources

This enhancement optimizes how our Policy Decision Point (PDP) evaluates external Identity Sources while maintaining continuous operation. It includes capabilities such as skipping Identity Sources based on Policies and implementing fallback mechanisms when the Identity Sources are unavailable. For the Identity Sources that are not mandatory but still mapped, their unavailability does not impact PDP responses, which allows for improved performance.

Authorization APIs

The User Access Token and Policy Resolution Runtime requests now support filtering by Actions. Users can filter their requests based on one or multiple actions, simplifying the response structure and Runtime calculations. This enhancement also eases the parsing process for integrating Applications.

Enhanced Policy Authoring Experience

The Policy Authoring logic has been been enhanced to make the process more intuitive and efficient. Users can benefit from an improved and adaptive user experience in the PlainID Platform when creating Policies, simplifying the Policy creation process and ensuring alignment to the organization’s requirements.

Policy Authorization Agent (PAA)

This release includes security enhancements for the PAA.
