The March 2024 version release of the Platform includes new features, product enhancements, UI/UX updates, and bug fixes.

What’s New?

Policy List Endpoint

PlainID is excited to introduce the new Policy List endpoint in the Runtime service. This feature provides a list of eligible Policies for a specified object. This endpoint:

  • Simplifies the determination of eligible Policies for different object types specified in the request.

  • Supports the reporting and certification process by answering the question of which policy applies to a specific Identity or Asset.

Filter Identities for UserList Access Calculation

Designed to optimize the UserList calculation, the operational filter minimizes data processing when the consumer has a distinguished operational logic, ensuring that UserList access calculations are evaluated only for relevant users. This parameter enhances performance and focuses the access decision on the operational need per request.

Product Updates

Power BI Authorizer

PlainID now allows users to define tables as Identity sources which allows for Identity source management. Users can define a Power BI discovered table as an Identity source, which can be utilized in the Policy rules to support fine-grained controls for row-level security.

Users are also now able to set the default access for new tables created in Power BI, which enhances security and compliance with zero-trust principles. With this latest update, users in manage mode gain more control over the native default access settings for newly created tables in Power BI.

PAA and Authorizers

This release includes security enhancements for the Policy Authorization Agent.
